Grand Manan Island Birding August 6, 2009

Arrived on Grand Manan Island late on August 6th. Had a good crossing and our first taste of pelagic birding. The 90 minute crossing was smooth and we spent our time scanning the waters for anything! Highlights were 40+ Black-legged Kittiwake, numerous Greater and Sooty Shearwater, Atlantic Puffin flyby, Black Guillemot, 30+ Red-necked Phalarope and a few Harbour Porpoises.

One of the two ferries that service Grand Manan Island during the summer months.

A trio of Harbour Porpoises.
