August 31, 2011 Buff-breasted Sandpipers at Presqu'ile Provincial.

Hi Ontbirders,

This evening Bruce Di Labio and I checked Owen Pt. at Presqu'ile Prov. Park and saw 4 juv. Buff-breasted Sandpipers, 3 juv. Red Knot and an ad. White-rumped Sandpiper among about 250 shorebirds visible. The knots were on the gravel near the tip of Owen Pt. and the Buff-
breasted were feeding about 100-200m North of Owen Pt. along the edge of the shoreline smartweed. At times they would disappear into the vegetation for several minutes then emerge into the open.

Cheers,

Doug McRae

Directions:
Presqu'ile Prov. Park is located south of Brighton, on the north shore of Lake Ontario. It is well signed from either Hwy.
